The prices are very reasonable for the portions and the service is fairly prompt. Diverse groups frequent this restaurant--which must speak to how tasty the dishes are. The mole was very filling, slightly earthy-sweet with a savory-smoky flavor. The burrito was well balanced and filling. The el pastor tacos were delicious. There was a little stand with a serve yourself selection of sauces and toppings. ”

“ Before you get to the excellent restaurant in back, you pass through a small but packed with merchandise mercado general. It is worth the exploration in its own right before sitting down for almuertzo o diner. The collection of chilies alone is a botanist's wet dream. It is not every day that you can walk through a museum quality exhibit of colorful peppers, followed by shelves full of Madonna and Child statuary, on the way to a delicious and culturally absorbing meal. Although the market/kitchen concept is standard issue in Mexico and their outposts around the world, this one is a typical sample with outstanding chef at the back of the joint. ”

“ Found this place by word of mouth. The restaurant is a pleasant hidden gem in the back of the store. The ambiance was lively, server was friendly, and helpful with the menu. Food was served in a timely manner. I came during dinner time, it was busy but not crowded. Ordered carne asada, carnitas, and al pastor tacos served in corn tortilla. The tortilla was warm, very generous with meat portions, and there's a condiment station for your onions, cilantro, sauces, etc. I love el limon but this restaurant serves a higher quality taco for a better price. Paid with credit card but make sure you tip either with cash or tell the server to add gratuity. ”

“ El Primo has many mounds of dried peppers -- I didn't try any, but they're impressive. We picked up some baked goods here, which were great. The pastry fillings seem premade, but the pastry itself is good -- it's flaky when it should be, and not overly sweet. Had the apple empanada, which I enjoyed & I also really liked the big crumbly cookie. 4 large pastries cost us $4 total. I wish there was a shop like this right near me. ”

“ I found this little Mexican/Latin market on a trip to a nearby produce market that turned out to be a disappointment. El Primo Produce turned my frown into a smile again! What a great little market! El Primo has a nice selection of good quality, cheap produce and an array of hard to find dry goods and fresh cheeses. The dried and roasted peppers selection was incredible! The staff were friendly and helpful, and the place is incredibly tidy. What a find! ”
